    US tightens visa rules for Bangladesh: B1, B2 applicants must pay $15K bond after approval

    Starting January 21, 2026, Bangladeshi nationals approved for US B1/B2 visas must post a refundable bond of up to $15,000 due to concerns over visa overstays. The bond applies only to new B1/B2 visas issued after January 21, 2026; existing valid visas are not affected. The US Embassy warns applicants not to pay the bond in advance or through third-party sites to avoid scams and financial loss.
