
Tomatoes hit PKR 600 a kilo as Pak feels the heat after Afghan border clashes
Prices of essential goods have surged on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border due to recent conflicts and airstrikes. The cost of tomatoes has increased by over 400%, reaching around 600 Pakistani rupees per kilogramme. The border closure is causing $1 million in daily trade losses, with 5,000 containers stranded and perishable goods spoiling.
