Back from exile, BNP’s Tarique Rahman files nomination to contest Bangladesh polls

BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has filed nomination papers to contest the 2026 parliamentary election from Dhaka-17 after returning from 17 years in exile. Rahman will also contest from Bogra-6, as part of BNP's dual constituency strategy for the upcoming election. His candidacy is expected to energize BNP supporters and intensify competition in key constituencies ahead of the February 2026 polls.
