Sudan’s PM outlines sweeping peace plan while US pushes for an immediate humanitarian truce

Sudan’s prime minister proposed a UN-monitored ceasefire and disarmament of paramilitaries to end the war, as the US and others urged an immediate humanitarian truce. The conflict has killed over 40,000 and displaced 14 million, causing famine and disease.
