Sudan's RSF paramilitary forces seized the Heglig oilfield in South Kordofan, pushing Sudanese military and staff into South Sudan. The RSF and Sudanese military have been in a civil war since 2023, with RSF controlling the west and south, and the military controlling the north, east, and center.
