    Sri Lanka asks China for help to repair cyclone-hit bridges, train tracks

    Sri Lanka has requested urgent Chinese assistance to rebuild bridges and rail tracks destroyed by Cyclone Ditwah, which caused severe flooding and landslides in November. Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath also proposed establishing EV charging points, citing the rise in Chinese-made EV imports. India has already provided a $450 million relief package and engineering support to aid Sri Lanka's cyclone recovery efforts.
