Sensex ends muted, slips 46 pts to 82,230; Nifty steady above 25,490

Indian benchmark indices ended flat Wednesday as gains in pharma, telecom, and auto stocks offset losses in banking and power shares. Sensex slipped 45 points to 82,230, while Nifty rose 14 points to 25,496. HDFC Bank led declines; Sun Pharma and Bharat Electronics gained.
