Pope Leo XIV visits Istanbul’s Blue Mosque in rare papal visit during Turkey trip

Pope Leo XIV visited Istanbul's Blue Mosque, marking his first entry into a Muslim place of worship since becoming pope. Leo followed the footsteps of previous popes Benedict XVI and Francis, who visited the Blue Mosque in 2006 and 2014 respectively. Leo will meet local church leaders and attend services before traveling to Lebanon for the second leg of his trip.
