Meta inks deal with AMD to deploy 6GW of AI data center gear

Meta Platforms will deploy 6 gigawatts of AMD-based AI data center infrastructure in a multi-year deal, powering next-gen AI systems with AMD Instinct GPUs and EPYC CPUs. AMD issued Meta a performance-based warrant for up to 160 million shares, allowing Meta to take up to a 10% stake in AMD as shipment milestones are met. The agreement, valued in the double-digit billions per gigawatt, strengthens Meta’s AI infrastructure and marks a significant win for AMD in its competition with Nvidia.
