    Mark Tully, BBC’s longtime India voice and chronicler of the country, dies at 90

    Veteran journalist and author Mark Tully, known for his deep coverage of India, died at age 90 in Delhi after illness. Tully served as BBC’s New Delhi bureau chief for 22 years, covering major events like the Emergency, Operation Blue Star, and the Babri Masjid demolition. He authored several acclaimed books on India, received the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and was knighted in 2002.
