
Khawaja Asif’s ‘two-front’ delusion: Why Pakistan keeps provoking Bharat — even after repeated defeats
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s claim of readiness for a two-front war reflects a deeper ideological conditioning within the Pakistani state and military. Rooted in a “Medina mindset,” Pakistan’s leadership views perpetual conflict with Bharat as a form of victory, regardless of repeated defeats — including the recent Operation Sindoor setback. Historical religious symbolism and the belief in a divinely ordained mission fuel reckless strategic decisions. Encouraged by imagined US, Saudi, Bangladeshi, and Chinese support, Pakistan’s generals continue provoking conflict. The article argues that India’s long-term strategy should weaken Punjabi dominance in Pakistan and hold Rawalpindi’s military establishment accountable for decades of proxy warfare.
