Indian-origin attorney Keshav Poddar has been sworn in as Jersey City’s deputy mayor for housing and economic development, taking his oath on the Bhagwat Gita. Poddar, a Yale Law graduate and former Biden administration adviser, will oversee housing and economic development policies, focusing on affordable and workforce housing. He previously served as counsel to New Jersey’s Attorney General and as economic policy manager for Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign.
