
How India-Israel ties go far beyond Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’
The article argues that India–Israel relations are grounded in long-term strategic and security convergence and are not shaped by transient political initiatives such as President Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” for Gaza. While India recognises the humanitarian need to rebuild Gaza, it remains cautious of frameworks that bypass the United Nations, prioritise transactional diplomacy, or ignore persistent terror infrastructures. Drawing from its own experience with asymmetric warfare and counter-terrorism, India views reconstruction without security and ideological dismantling as unsustainable. This measured approach reflects India’s strategic autonomy, commitment to international norms, and enduring partnership with Israel based on capability, trust, and shared security experiences.
