India is now a smartphone export powerhouse — a success story of PLI scheme
India has become a major global hub for smartphone exports, driven by the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, with iPhone exports surpassing $50 billion by December 2025. Apple's iPhone exports account for up to 75 percent of India's smartphone shipments, supported by five factories and a supply chain of nearly 45 companies. Samsung exported nearly $17 billion worth of devices under the PLI scheme, while India has begun exporting Apple products to China and Vietnam for the first time.
