India–EU FTA to benefit Rs 6.4 lakh crore exports across key states and sectors, says Piyush Goyal
India and EU have concluded a historic Free Trade Agreement, granting Indian exports access to all 27 EU markets under a single framework. The FTA eliminates tariffs on key sectors like textiles, leather, gems, and engineering goods, benefiting major Indian states and MSMEs. The agreement is expected to enter into force by 2026, boosting labour-intensive exports and strengthening bilateral economic ties amid global trade uncertainty.
