    A 27-year-old software engineer, Yuvraj Mehta, died after his car plunged into a 70-feet water-filled pit at a Greater Noida construction site; poor visibility and overspeeding are suspected causes. Rescue efforts by authorities were criticised as delayed and inadequate, with bystanders mostly watching and only a delivery agent attempting to help before Mehta drowned. Police registered an FIR against two builders for negligence, as the pit lacked proper barricading or reflectors; residents say previous warnings about the hazard were ignored.
