GE engine pact done, HAL to start delivering Tejas Mk1A fighter jets in 24-36 months

HAL will deliver eight Tejas Mk1A fighter planes in the next 24-36 months, with production ramping up later. The Indian government ordered 83 Mk1A in 2021 and 97 more in September. Delays are due to engine procurement issues from GE, but production is expected to stabilize soon.
