Europe flies back to Baghdad after 35 years

Aegean Airlines became the first European Union carrier in 35 years to land at Baghdad International Airport, signaling Iraq's return to the European aviation map. European airlines stopped flying to Baghdad in the early 1990s due to conflict, sanctions, and security concerns after Iraq invaded Kuwait. The new Baghdad–Athens–Baghdad route will operate twice weekly, reflecting improved stability and Iraq's efforts to attract foreign investment.
