Inside China’s plan on ‘world-first floating artificial island’ that can resist nuclear blasts

China is constructing a floating artificial island named Deep-Sea All-Weather Resident Floating Research Facility, set to launch in 2028. The island can house 238 people for four months without resupply and withstand nuclear attacks using a lattice of folded metal tubes.
