Bhairav Battalions: Inside India’s ‘lean and mean’ elite Army units that can launch surprise attacks on the enemy

Indian Army to raise 25 Bhairav Battalions, with five already operational and four more in progress. Bhairav Battalions will focus on reconnaissance, disruption, and high-impact missions along borders with China and Pakistan. New formations like Ashni platoons for drone operations and all-arms Rudra Brigades are also being introduced.
