Alice Guo: Chinese woman turned mayor in Philippines sentenced to life for human trafficking

Alice Guo and seven others sentenced to life imprisonment for human trafficking in the Philippines. Guo ran a Chinese-operated online gambling hub where hundreds were forced to run scams under threat of torture. More than 700 victims from various countries were discovered at the site during a raid in March 2024.
