A day after the Aam Aadmi Party issued notices to him and Prashant Bhushan among others for their organising and participating in the Swaraj Samvad event, Yogendra Yadav hit back calling the notice a joke and questioned how members who had levelled allegations against him and Bhushan in the past could be part of the disciplinary committee that reviews the action to be taken against them. Yadav in a Facebook post said that he had thought it was a joke when a party leader told the media on Friday that he was among those who would be served a show cause notice and despite media reports, he didn’t receive the show cause notice from the party till late on Friday night. He also questioned how the media knew the details of the show cause notice before he received it and said that only a member of the disciplinary committee could have leaked it. [caption id=“attachment_2202014” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] PTI image[/caption] “I am told the National Disciplinary Committee has received a complaint against us, reviewed it and found its charges prima facie correct! I have been given till 6 pm on Sunday to respond to this lengthy complaint,” he wrote.
“And you know the joke? I am told the Show Cause Notice charges me with leaking sensitive information to the media!!” he wrote. Yadav questioned how the disciplinary committee constituted by the party could include Pankaj Gupta, Ashish Khetan among others despite the duo having made accusations of anti-party activities against him and Bhushan in the past. “I had spoken to Shri Waghela about this violation of elementary principle of justice. He did not disagree with me and promised to look into this aspect. But I find that these Hon’ble members of the National Disciplinary Committee have not honourably recused themselves from this case,” he said. He questioned whether the party leaders would now recuse themselves and review the show cause notice and whether it will initiate a probe into the leaks to the media. “Or will the joke continue? Or should I call it a farce?” he said. AAP had issued separate notices have been issued to Yadav, Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha, detailing out a list of charges against them, backed with “evidence” for allegedly indulging in anti-party activities.
