Will PM Modi hold a rally at Madison Square Gardens in New York?

If you were to count the number of places where people had huddle to chant ‘NaMo, NaMo’, or jubilantly sing ‘Ab ki bar, Modi sarkar’, post 16 May, you would probably be in a fix. Because millions of people in India had taken to the streets to celebrate the BJP’s victory in this year’s elections. So, when a video surfaced showing a group of evidently happy people celebrating Narendra Modi’s win, it could be mistaken for a scene from anywhere in India. However, the place was Madison Square in New York where Modi fans abroad where celebrating his victory. [caption id=“attachment_1621301” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![Narendra Modi at Brics. Washington Post reports, “Now Modi has instructed supporters in the United States to find him a venue big enough for a grand address to the Indian diaspora planned for Sept. 28. They believe his speech could draw 100,000 people. Trouble is, they can’t find a venue in the New York area that they think is big enough — and available.” However, since most of the bigger venues are out of question, Prime Minister Modi might have to settle for Madison Square Gardens with a capacity to hold just 20,000 people.
