Will pass Lokpal bill if we win in polls: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal today said that the Lokpal Bill is on top of their priority list and they will make sure the bill is passed if they come to power in the upcoming elections in Delhi.

“If we win, the first thing we will do is pass the Lokpal Bill,” Kejriwal told reporters in New Delhi today.

Taking a dig at the Delhi government said, “The government, two years ago, on 29 December had ridiculed Anna’s Lokpal Bill in the Assembly. This 29 December AAP will uproot the same corrupt government.”

On Anna Hazare’s absence from AAP campaigns Kejriwal said, “I am in touch with Anna Hazare. We respect his decision of not campaigning for our party.”

The AAP leader said that the public will choose their candidate, and if voted to power, his party will strive to rid the country of corruption and bad governance.

Party member Yogendra Yadav said that though AAP hasn’t announced a chief minister candidate, every one accepts Kejriwal’s leadership.

“We believe after a long time Delhi has a face that they can trust on,” Yadav said about Kejriwal.

Later, Kejriwal took to Twitter and said, “AAP will form govt by 15 Dec. On 29 Dec, a spl session of Delhi Assembly will be called in Ramlila Maidan and Anna’s Lokpal will be passed.”
