Will dutifully discharge responsibility, says newly inducted Cabinet Minister Prakash Javadekar

New Delhi: Prakash Javadekar, the lone minister to be promoted to Cabinet rank on Tuesday, said he will “dutifully” discharge the responsibility given to him, while other newly inducted ministers cited carrying out the government’s development agenda as their priority. Javadekar held independent charge of the Environment Ministry while other MPs took oath as Ministers of State. An MP from Maharashtra, SR Bhamre, who joined the Council of Ministers, said what could not be achieved in 60 years was done in the last two years by the Modi government, the only target of which is ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’. “I will definitely meet the expectation from me. The Modi government has completed two years and many a good work have been done. But still a lot of work is left. Our Prime Minister’s only target is Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’ and development is the only agenda,” he said. Noting that the opposition was trying to mislead the people, he said the performance of the government is speaking for itself. “Priority will be given to work for the interest of the farmers, youths, women, besides making efforts for uplift of all sections of society including Dalits,” he said. Faggan Singh Kulaste, an MP from Madhya Pradesh who also secured a ministerial berth, said the government in the last two years had taken important decisions and his responsibility is to see that their implementation is being done properly at the grassroot level. “The government has taken many important decisions and it is our responsibility to see that their implementation is being done properly and taken to the grassroot level,” he said. To a question, Kulaste said he will be happy with whatever ministry is given to him.
