Where 'Sala Congressi' is not what a TMC worker says in sleep

No, this isn’t the drunken antic of a Mamata Banerjee worshipper. Neither is this PA Sangma’s poll campaign manager’s doing nor is it the dirty work of a diehard BJP supporter. Only maybe the Roman restaurant is speaking aloud what could possibly be on either of the former’s mind.

Not that mincing words or diplomacy were ever rules our politicians played by, could this have the Congress here fuming?

While the party, which a lot of foes, friends and countrymen, have stopped humouring, might not be amused, we can almost see a bunch of its detractors snapping their fingers and laughing at the irony of it all.

After all a restaurant in Italy unwittingly calling the Congress names does make for cheesy political humour!

‘Sala’ in Italian means hall and ‘congressi’ means conferences. So, a benign Italian name for a conference banquet in a hotel in Italy, can evoke interesting reactions and interpretations in the present political climate.
