What's wrong with Rahul's ISI comment, Shiv Sena asks BJP

Rahul Gandhi found an unexpected ally in the Shiv Sena after his comments about the ISI reaching out to riot-hit Muslim youth in Muzaffarnagar. PTI[/caption] In an editorial in Monday’s edition of party mouthpiece Saamna, the Sena has said criticism of Rahul’s comments is misplaced. The BJP, which is the Sena’s ally in Maharashtra, incidentally, has launched a scathing attack against Rahul Gandhi for the comments, stating that the Congress vice-president was questioning the patriotism of Indian Muslims by suggesting that they are vulnerable to manipulation by the ISI. “Rahul Gandhi is not a philosopher. Nor is he a fiery leader. Most of his public pronouncements are ridiculous. However, he has stated the truth, albeit unwittingly, about ISI establishing contacts with the Muslim youths in riot-torn Muzaffarnagar,” the paper said, according to a report in The Times of India . Even the Gujarat riots were in fact sponsored by the ISI, the paper claimed in comments that marked the first time that the Sena has voiced its differences with the BJP since Narendra Modi’s elevation as PM-candidate.
