What the netas were upto: Here's a look at Lok Sabha productivity in the Winter Session

Lok Sabha is scheduled to meet for six hours every day when it is in session. The chart below shows the percentage of productive time (time met / 6 hrs) of the lower house in the 15th and 16th Lok Sabha. The productive time of Lok Sabha declines when the proceedings of the house are disrupted. Productivity is also impacted when the house adjourns before transacting any business to mourn the demise of a sitting member or a dignitary. Productivity goes beyond 100 percent when the house meets for more than 6 hours in a day by working late. The calendar below highlights the days on which the lower house met each year.
