PTI[/caption] The Consumer Affairs Ministry has filed a class action suit against the Swiss manufacturer of Maggi noodles, seeking about Rs 640 crore in damages for alleged unfair trade practices, false labelling and misleading advertisements. Any news about Maggi, one of the most popular instant snacks in India, is sure to get tongues, or rather tweets, rolling and soon Rs 640 started trending on Twitter and was the second from top trend at the time of writing this. Indian Twitterati went from sarcastic to demanding over this latest development in the Maggi saga, as they pointed out that it’s the consumer and not the government who should be compensated.
