New Delhi: The Congress on Friday said it respected the Supreme Court order dismissing the plea of 1993 Delhi bomb blast convict Devender Pal Singh Bhullar, challenging the rejection of his mercy plea by the president. We never intervene in any legal system,” Congress spokesperson Rashid Alvi told IANS. Bhullar was given capital punishment for the 1993 blast at the Youth Congress office in Delhi which left nine dead. The attack was targeted against then Youth Congress leader M.S. Bitta. Bhullar had filed a mercy petition on 14 January, 2003, which was rejected by the president on 25 May, 2011. IANS
