The election results may not be out yet but the Gujarat chief minister and state administration is reportedly already preparing for the return of Narendra Modi as the Chief Minister. According to an Indian Express report, the state government’s general administration department is already preparing to print invitation cards to Modi’s swearing-in ceremony at the Sardar Patel stadium in Ahmedabad and they have also tentatively been fixed as 25 December. PTI[/caption] The date is being chosen because it is the birthday of former prime minister AB Vajpayee. Opinion polls have predicted a victory for the Gujarat chief minister, with him likely to make inroads into rivals’ domains like Saurashtra and other regions that are traditionally not considered BJP strongholds. The BJP is expected to top its tally in 2007 but whether he will break beyond the tally from that election. Modi held the last cabinet meeting yesterday but also tweeted that he had reviewed preparations for the ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ summit in 2013, the flagship event for the state government to invite investments from corporates. https://twitter.com/narendramodi/status/281416558746669057
