Varanasi will defeat Narendra Modi, Ajai Rai is nowhere: Kejriwal

Varanasi: Exuding confidence about the performance of his Aam Aadmi Party party in the Varanasi constituency, Arvind Kejriwal said that AAP will win from the holy city. Pitted against Bharatiya Janata Party’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Kejriwal said that Congress’s candidate Ajai Rai was not even in the race. “There is a two-way fight between me and Narendra Modi in Varanasi," added Kejriwal. “Varanasi will defeat Narendra Modi, Ajai Rai is nowhere.” [caption id=“attachment_1518767” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] Arvind Kejriwal waving to supporters during his roadshow in Varanasi in this file photo. Getty Images[/caption] The AAP chief further said: “This election is about price rise and corruption.” Modi, the Gujarat chief minister, chose Varanasi as his second seat in a bid to strengthen his image of a national leader. He is also contesting from Vadodara. Kejriwal had said that he will contest from wherever Modi will stand and hence, he is in Varanasi. Voting in the Hindu holy city is currently underway.
