The bill is likely to get the president’s assent in a couple of days. This will be followed by a publication of gazette notification after which the two states will formally come into being. Chandrasekhara Rao also met Congress president Sonia Gandhi Sunday in the national capital to thank her for the passage of the bill. He is likely to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh before returning to Hyderabad on 26 February. IANS
