In a jolt to West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress, minister Manjul Krishna Thakur Thursday quit the ministry and joined the BJP. Thakur, who holds the refugee, relief and rehabilitation portfolio in Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s cabinet, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) along with his son and panchayat functionary Subrata Thakur. There is no scope for good men to be in Trinamool and for that I resigned. I am forced to say that the death of my brother Kapil Krishna Thakur’s death is not natural. The death of my brother took place at a house at Ballygunj. I demand a CBI probe in the death of my brother Kapil Krishna Thakur,” T
hakur told Times of India.
Banerjee is under pressure as transport minister Madan Mitra is already behind bars in Saradha scam while CBI had also summoned Trinamool party’s All India general secretary Mukul Roy, in the scam.
