This is ridiculous: Now BSP MP gets the boot for pro-Modi comment

After being rapped by party chief Mayawati for his comments saying that Modi’s puppy analogy had been misinterpreted, BSP MP Vijay Bahadur today was expelled from the party. After the controversial interview with Gujarat Chief Minister, in which he expressed pain over the deaths that took place during the 2002 riots, Bahadur had said he did not see anything wrong with what Modi had said. [caption id=“attachment_962345” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] The BSP hasn’t taken kindly to their MP backing Modi’s comments. AFP[/caption] “I do not see anything wrong in what Modi had said. Even I would have felt the same if a puppy was crushed by my car,” Singh was quoted as saying in a Times of India report. BSP chief Mayawati was understandably peeved over the comment and said that it was Bahadur’s “personal view and not that of the party.” However, Singh had shot back saying that “being a politician does not mean that we are forced to toe a line so much that it defies logic. I cannot say that two plus two is one only because modi is saying that the resultant is four.” Unfortunately for Singh it turns out he was wrong. The party has reportedly expelled him from the party for his comments and his retort to Mayawati. This follows Aamir Raza Husain’s booting out from the BJP for his anti-Modi comments . And we thought, we lived in a democracy. Either whips within political parties must get their house in order and manage statements or parties must openly say politicians are entitled to personal views and disagreements are healthy. Narendra Modi, it seems, will be a key factor for political parties, whether or not he is for the Indian people.
