Third front a certainty after LS polls, says Sharad Yadav

Allahabad: Janata Dal (United) President Sharad Yadav on Monday said a third front comprising regional outfits was bound to emerge after the Lok Sabha elections next year. He, however, ruled out the possibility of a pre-poll formation saying it would lead to squabbles over the issue of seat-sharing. PTI[/caption] “A third front is bound to emerge after the Lok Sabha polls as neither the Congress nor the BJP will be able to win more than 150 seats, forget getting a majority. “However, not much time is left for elections and we will not like to fritter our energies in squabbles over the issue of seat-sharing by insisting on any pre-poll formation,” the JD (U) president told reporters in Allahabad. Yadav, whose party had pulled out of the NDA earlier this year, said “we had called the bluff of the BJP at a recent meeting where representatives of 14 political outfits shared the stage.” “They are trying to spread rumours that after election results are out parties like the AIADMK, the Biju Janata Dal and the AGP will be more than happy to join the NDA. “The presence of representatives of these very parties at the 30 October meeting has put a big question mark over the BJP’s claims,” he said.
