Thackeray's sons at war over his will leaving everything to Uddhav

Late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray’s estranged son Jaidev Thackeray has moved court contesting his father’s will, which left much of the property to Sena executive president Uddhav. I am sure he wanted all his children to have a equal share in the properties. I am going to challenge Uddhav because he is trying to keep everyone else out from our residence. I think the will has been fabricated by him,” Jaidev was quoted as saying in an Economic Times report. Jaidev’s contention, according to reports, is that Thackeray could not have signed the will, as he was suffering from a “cognitive dysfunction”. The will was signed almost a year before the senior Thackeray’s death in November 2012. As per the current will left behind by Bal Thackeray, properties and bank deposits worth Rs 14.85 crore are to be left mostly to Uddhav. Jaidev’s contention is also that the real value is higher. He has been left out of the will completely. Madhavi, wife of Thackeray’s eldest son Bindumadhav, who died in a car accident many years back, has also been left out of the will. The petition to probate the will comes up for hearing on 27 January in the Bombay High Court.
