TDP jumps gun, says NDA is inclined to back Sangma for Prez

The Telugu Desam Party may be a part of the NDA but the party has indicated that it is in favour of getting the alliance to support PA Sangma’s  candidature for the Presidential poll against the UPA’s Pranab Mukherjee. TDP president Chandrababu Naidu today said that the alliance was inclined to support the NCP leader’s candidature for the post. We are discussing with other political parties & will come out with a decision soon on this, in a day or two,” Naidu said. If there had been a candidate from the 3rd front, we would have immediately supported him but unfortunately there isnt one, Naidu said. The NDA is still to finalise their presidential nominee and despite holding a meeting last week to pick a candidate said they would wait. The BJP president Nitin Gadkari today met with senior party leaders Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj on the issue but is still to disclose if they will back either Mukherjee or Sangma.
