Tarak Mehta on Modi: I appreciate, I admire, I respect

Chief Minister Narendra Modi has the blessings of one of the stalwarts of Gujarati literature – Tarak Mehta. “I appreciate him, I admire him. I respect him,” a story in rediff.com quoted the satirist as saying.[caption id=“attachment_538822” align=“alignleft” width=“380”] ![](https://images.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/Tarak_Mehta380AFP.jpg "Tarak_Mehta380AFP") Gujarati satirist Tarak Mehta. AFP[/caption] Reposing his faith in the chief minister, Mehta appeared certain that the BJP will return to power for the third time. However, the satirist did not have any kind words neither for BJP defector Keshubhai Patel nor for the Congress party in the state. “Keshubapa has never been an ideologist and never will be. He is more about nuisance value than about leadership…. The Congress has been unnecessarily hanging around. All along it has been an useless party in Gujarat,” the rediff.com piece quoted Mehta as saying. Gujarat is going to vote on 13 and 17 December in two phases. The counting is scheduled on 20 December.
