[/caption] Subramanian Swamy’s plea to be allowed to summon more witnesses in the 2G case has been accepted by the special CBI court. However, Swamy will have to first stand in the witness box and make a case for why he wants specific people summoned. If the judge feels that he makes a good enough case, Swamy will be allowed to summon witnesses such as Home Minister P Chidambaram. Swamy has been continually petitioning the CBI court to summon Chidambaram as a witness in the 2G case on the basis that the then Finance Minister and former telecom minister A Raja had agreed upon fixing the pricing of 2G spectrum. Swamy also released a set of documents to prove that the two had met in July 2008. on 15 September, Swamy had sought to record his testimony afresh alleging complicity of Chidambaram in spectrum pricing. He had said the court should bring on record purported “new facts” that Chidambaram and former Telecom Minister A Raja had a “role” in deciding 2G spectrum prices and entry fee.
