New Delhi: Sushma Swaraj on Wednesday took charge as India's new external affairs minister.
Swaraj, who was received by Foreign Secretary Sujatha Singh and other ministry officials, smiled and waved at journalists present at the ministry.
She became the first woman to take charge of the external affairs ministry since 1984, which is yet another first for the BJP leader.
Apart from having the distinction of becoming the youngest cabinet minister in Haryana government at the age of 25, Swaraj has also many other firsts such as being the first woman Chief Minister of Delhi and woman spokesperson for any political party in the country.
She was sworn in as cabinet along with other ministers of the Cabinet during Modi's swearing in ceremony on May 26th.
