Subramanian Swamy and Maheish Girri have given Arvind Kejriwal a taste of his own medicine — stage an indefinite dharna outside Aam Admi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister’s house, dare him to produce evidence for accusing East Delhi MP Maheish Girri of murder and take action against him, and in case Kejriwal fails, to apologise to Girri. Till that doesn’t happen, the dharna would not be lifted, claimed BJP leaders. The BJP leaders pulling a Kejriwal on Kejriwal seems to have irritated Kejriwal. After Kejriwal’s tweet, Rajdeep Sardesai tweeted: “Breaking news: @Swamy39 to join Mahesh Girii for dharna at @ArvindKejriwal house. But hey, wasn’t AAP supposed to be the dharna party?”

He challenged Kejriwal on his IIT degree and the way he got admission to the premier engineering institute. Keeping the suspense, the Rajya Sabha MP said he would later hold a media conference to give details of Kejriwal’s admission. “All his life he (Kejriwal) has done fraud. He says he was a meritorious student in IIT, but I have records of how he got his admission… which I will reveal in a press conference. Till now, I was Rajan (RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan) ke peechhe and he is now gone,” Swamy said. Until recently, Kejriwal and other AAP leaders were making all kinds of charges against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s graduation and post-graduation degrees as an external student in Delhi University and Gujarat University, notwithstanding the fact that the BJP has released Modi’s marksheets and degrees, and universities concerned had authenticated the said degrees. Subramanian Swamy poses to return a favour to Kejriwal. The BJP seems to have taken a lesson or two from the Kejriwal style of politics. No one in AAP cared, least of all Kejriwal, for either the choice of words in making allegations or to do any due diligence while making slanderous accusations against people in high positions. Their idea is to grab headlines, create confusion in minds of people and if proven false, total lies, move on to another allegations. A case in point is — Arun Jaitley and the BCCI charge. The party is not talking about it since the time Jaitley took them to court, filling civil and criminal defamation suits against Kejriwal and other senior AAP leaders. Kejriwal has now accused Maheish Giri and NDMC vice-chairman Karan Singh Tanwar of the alleged murder of MM Khan, estate officer of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC). Delhi police is investigating the case and has made some arrests, but has not yet found any evidence against the two BJP leaders. Delhi Chief Minister, however, insists they are murderers, or criminal masterminds. He is also using this issue to revive his old demand of control over Delhi police. Kejriwal tweeted: " He shud be arrested n interrogated by Modi police in MM Khan murder case. Modi police shielding him".
Delhi police becomes Modi police for Delhi chief minister. But that’s only natural, none of his vitriolic rants are complete without pointing a finger at the Prime Minister. In another tweet, chief minister says, “If Del police were wid us, Mahesh Giri n Karan Singh Tanwar wud have been arrested and interrogated by now in MM Khan murder case.”
His party spokespersons repeated the same. The world knows that Delhi Police is under the Union Territory of Delhi and he is very keen to have it under his command and control. He also does not have any other investigative agency under him for him to get to the bottom of a criminal investigation. While Firstpost is no position to comment on the innocence or guilt of Giiri and Tanwar in Khan murder case, but it is difficult to make out what made Kejriwal so sure that the two BJP leaders plotted the murder of the NDMC official. Delhi chief minister and his party wants the two to be named in FIR first, arrested and placed before a custodial interrogation to find truth. Kejriwal could be right but propriety says that first police investigations should find something to name them. Their names can be added in the list of accused later also, depending on way investigations proceed. AAP chief, however, wants it other way, conclusions first, investigation later. Kejriwal is also angry because there is a high possibility that 21 AAP MLAs (parliamentary secretaries) could be disqualified on holding office of profit charge. Around one-third of his MLAs getting disqualified wouldn’t destabilise his government, for he will still have 46 MLAs in 70-member Assembly, but it will force a kind of mini general election where winning all 21 seats would be a herculean task for him. More so, if it coincides with Punjab and UP Assembly elections. Also, by staging a dharna in front of Kejriwal’s house, Girri with other BJP leaders including Swamy, Manoj Tiwari and Vijay Goel, has the potential to alter the leadership structure in BJP in Delhi. In Delhi, the BJP was hard pressed to find a leader who could take on Kejriwal. An otherwise soft spoken, but very active in petitioning of all kinds, Girri must have done just that, positioning himself as a BJP challenger to Kejirwal in Delhi.
