Speculation ends here: Rahul Gandhi has finally decided he's ready to tie the knot

That’s right. Take a moment and if you need to go back and read the headline again do that. Despite his earlier hints of never getting married and dedicating his life to the Congress cause, sources confirmed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is ready to give up his bachelorhood and tie the knot. Though the 45-year-old Gandhi scion insisted that his first love will still be the Congress party and making it more democratic, he feels that he has met the right woman to settle down. [caption id=“attachment_2706770” align=“alignleft” width=“380”]File image of Rahul Gandhi. PTI File image of Rahul Gandhi. PTI[/caption] Who is the girl you ask? The identity of Rahul’s lady love has been carefully kept under wraps. But we can confirm that she is an Indian with an impressive academic background. Way back in 2004, Gandhi had admitted to having a girlfriend, but the relationship with his Spanish girlfriend soon fizzled out and he was later seen only the company of his brother-in-law Robert Vadra or hanging out with his party workers and other male friends. But the good news is that Mama Gandhi has given her blessings to the soon-to-be-wedded couple. The family is believed to be planning an official announcement once they fix a date. Winds of change The Congress party is obviously ecstatic over the news and is optimistic that the latest development will change party prospects. After the embarrassing drubbing in the Lok Sabha polls, the news of Rahul getting married might help the Congress party to once again find its way, not to mention his public image. Though the role of Mrs Rahul Gandhi within the party has not been defined, it is clear that she will be working closely with his team and be an active part of matters concerning his constituency in Amethi. The nation is now full of questions and wants immediate answers, but one thing is clear — the title of the most eligible bachelor, which belonged to Rahul Gandhi (or not), now safely belongs to Bollywood’s Dabangg star Salman Khan. When asked to confirm the news, Arif Pollo from Rahul Gandhi’s office only hinted that there might be a big announcement made later today. Meanwhile, leaders across party lines have gushed out their happiness and have congratulated the happy couple.
