SC judgement on convicted MPs, MLAs: Who said what

In a landmark judgement, the Supreme Court has said that MPs and MLAs who are convicted by a trial court in any criminal case face instant disqualification. While this will not be applied retrospectively to MPs and MLAs who have appealed against convictions, the apex court said that this will mean that MPs and MLAs contesting elections in the future will be disqualified the day they’re convicted by a court.
