Kolkata: CBI on Friday told a city court that West Bengal Transport minister Madan Mitra had not cooperated with its officers during interrogation in jail in connection with the Saradha scam even as his judicial custody was extended till 12 February.
The CBI counsel told Haradhan Mukhopadhay, Chief Judicial Magistrate at Alipore Court, that Mitra had not cooperated with the investigating agency during interrogation on 20 January at Alipore Correctional Home here.
The Minister was not produced before the court today as he was suffering from breathing trouble, the magistrate was told.
The court extended his judicial remand till 12 February on a prayer by CBI counsel Partha Sarathi Dutta.
The judicial remand of another accused Naresh Bhalotia, who was produced before the court, was also extended till 12 February.
Mitra was arrested by CBI on 12 December for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore Saradha scam and his links with its chairman Sudipta Sen.
