A day after BJP president Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on West Bengal’s ruling Trinamool Congress over a host of issues including the Burdwan blast and the Saradha scam, TMC leaders tried to hit back, alleging that the BJP president is linked to the Sahara scam. TMC MPs protested against Amit Shah at Parliament gate, demanding that the CBI name the BJP chief in the scam. Reuters[/caption] The MPs wanted to know from Prime Minister Narendra Modi what action has been taken against the BJP president whose name allegedly featured in a red dairy recovered from Sahara chief Subrata Roy’s office. TMC MP Sudeep Bandhopadhyay told reporters, “In a raid by CBI, from Sahara’s office a red diary was recovered in which Amit Shah’s name is mentioned.” “We have given a notice for suspension of question hour, we want a discussion over this issue,” the TMC leader said. The TMC leaders are set to hold a public meeting from the same spot where Shah’s rally was held on Sunday and take the war of words forward. On Sunday, addressing a party rally, Shah accused Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of “shielding the Saradha scamsters and harbouring terrorists”, and asserted he was there to uproot Trinamool from Bengal. Virtually kicking off the poll campaign for the 2015 municipal polls and the 2016 assembly elections, Shah said Bengal under the Banerjee regime had regressed and only a Bharatiya Janata Party government could effect the change and the development that the people here are aspiring for.
