With the Assembly elections right around the corner, rally season is well and truly upon us.
After Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's rallies in Kanpur and Jaunpur respectively on Monday, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Union minister for road transport and highways and shipping Nitin Gadkari and the Samajwadi Party will be holding rallies on Tuesday.
Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Rajnath will be addressing a Parivartan Rally in Hardoi, while Gadkari will be addressing another in Ambedkar Nagar. On the likely agenda in both these speeches will be support for demonetisation, condemnation of the Opposition's perceived corruption and the development of the state.
In Deoria, the Samajwadi Party has planned a mega rally to be addressed by party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and state party chief Shivpal Singh Yadav. The rally is aimed at setting the scene for the third phase of Mulayam's 'Mulayam Sandesh Yatra' that kicks off on Friday.
Meanwhile, and in a shift of context, Kejriwal, in a Parivartan Rally of his own in Bhopal, will endeavour to drum up support for his Aam Aadmi Party against the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh.
