According to a report by The Time of India, Rahul Gandhi was denied permission by the district administration authorities who cited security risk to the VIP as one of the reasons.

SSP Moradabad, Nitin Tiwari, told The Times of India that there were various security reasons because of which the permission was denied that there was no alternate route plan too.

Gandhi is on a 2,500 km 'Kisan Yatra' across Uttar Pradesh, covering 223 of the 403 assembly constituencies in the run-up to the 2017 Uttar Pradesh assembly polls.

The road show started from Jama Masjid and will pass through areas like IC Chowk, Mandi Chowk, Chaumukha Pull, Bazar Ganj and Ambedkar Park. At Ambedkar park, the Congress leader will address a public rally.
