PM Manmohan Singh has done injustice to Andhra: Chandrababu Naidu

New Delhi: Accusing Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of doing injustice to Andhra Pradesh, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu today charged Congress party with ’taking Telugu people for granted’. “If you go through the last nine and half years, they have done injustice to Andhra Pradesh. They have neglected the state in railway budget, did not give adequate funds for national highways. Though we have demanded Rs. 60,000 crore for cyclone-affected Andhra Pradesh, only Rs. 4,000 crores have been given” Naidu told a press conference here. Is this the way of treating?” he said. Naidu said Andhra Pradesh has contributed maximum number of MPs, which was the key for Congress coming to power at the Centre. “Being the head of the nation, it is your (Prime Minister) responsibility to correct any injustice to anybody. Otherwise, people will be annoyed, they will be frustrated and it will have serious problems on the nation’s integrity also,” he added. On Telangana, the TDP leader charged Congress with playing dirty games for political gains. “Without discussing with Andhra Pradesh people, how can you decide in Delhi? Some people from Tamil Nadu or Karnataka or somewhere they decide the future of Andhra Pradesh,” he stated. The Leader of the Opposition in AP reiterated his stand on inviting people from both the regions to settle the issue amicably. “You cannot create problems among Telugu people and enjoy political benefits. On a sensitive issue, do you want to play with people?” he said. However, Naidu parried queries on TDP’s position in Parliament when the Telanagana bill would be introduced. PTI
