On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Parliament; this comes a day after Rahul Gandhi’s salvo, when he asked the PM that he should not run the nation on his opinions.

“We should all come together to make India the nation it once was,” Rajnath said. “I would like to request all to make an effort to protect the image of India which has been there since the old days.”
Talk about what is happening today: Sitharam Yechury
At this point, Sitharam Yechury interrupted Rajnath Singh and asked him whether he was talking about India of the past. “Talk about what is happening in the country these days,” he said.
Anyone in India can be a nationalist: Rajnath
“How can anyone in the country ever worship Nathuram Godse?” said Rajnath Singh in Rajya Sabha.
“Unity cannot be saved by just one party. Everyone has to work to save India’s identity,” he said. “I respect Ghulam Nabi Azad a lot. But how can anyone say that a Muslim in India is not a nationalist?”
“We should not play politics over secularism,” Rajnath said. “We consider anyone in this country to be a nationalist. Terrorism has no colour, caste or religion.”
We should understand India’s indentity: Rajnath in Rajya Sabha
“We should ensure that no power in this world ever questions India’s identity,” said the Home Minister in Rajya Sabha.
“India is full of diversities. We all proudly say that India is the world’s most secular nation,” he said.
Ghulam Nabi Azad raises issue of hate speeches in Rajya Sabha
Talking about the hate speeches made by BJP ministers and MPs in the country, Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad said that even these people should be charged with sedition.
“Another MP Mr. Babulalji had said, ‘If you want to test Hindus, let us decide a date and take on Muslims,’” Azad said.
“Look, Yadav_ji_ and Mayawati_ji_, they are saying they will fight the upcoming UP elections with bullets, not with speeches,” he said.
Ghulam Nabi Azad further said that another BJP leader had said, “Jis Hindu ka khoon na khaule, woh khoon nahi woh paani hai. (The Hindu whose blood does not boil does not have blood, but water.)”
He further said, “Anant Kumar Hegde, BJP MP from Karnataka, in a press conference had said, ‘I am the only who has been saying this for the past 20 years. As long as we have Islam in the world, there will be no end to terrorism in the world. If you media people have the freedom to report this, please report this.’”
Azad then said that a sedition case should also be filed against these people. “You have one agenda for the party and another agenda for the government. This set of double principles is because the party fights elections on the ground and the government has to work here. You want to divide the nation…You charged Kanhaiya Kumar with sedition. Shouldn’t sedition case be filed against these people?” he said.

Prime Minister’s cutting rebuttal to Rahul Gandhi’s comments:
PM Modi quoted Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi in his speech — to make his points
He asserted that the Opposition suffers from an inferiority complex. He asked as to why must one question ‘Make in India’ when it is only for the benefit of India. He said that his government is making up for UPA failures. He said that ‘some members’ were growing older, but had not improved in their maturity. He backed up his statements with statistics of UPA and NDA government.
